Thoughts on Psalm 42

Reading Psalm 42 today. Led to poem/whatever

My soul longs for you

With more than words can adequately express.

I know your hand is there

Unseen, but guiding my way.

I need to hear your voice.

I need to feel your touch.

Please, Lord help me to obey...

As deep calls to deep

Fill me Lord, flood my soul.

Let the waves and the breakers

of your spirit wash over me...

Wash over me, Truth of your Word

Wash away the doubts and the taunts of the enemy

Wash over me..

King of Truth

Prince of Peace

fill me with your joy again

Renew my strength

Help me to walk

In your pathway of Delight

Finding myself in You alone

Let my identity be in You

Hello all!

This is my second attempt at a post today.  You see, I wrote this long  entry and then lost it! I will try again.

Irina asked me where that scripture is.

“And when he had taken it [the scroll] the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.  Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” (Revelation 5:8)NIV

KJV says ”…golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of the saints.”

Also consider,  2Cor 2:15 “For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.  To the one we are the smell of death, to the other, the fragrance of  life. And who is equal to such a task?”

What an honor for us that our prayers are treated in such a way.   Obviously it is a blessing to the Lord when we call on him for whatever reason.  He is not disgusted that we are talking too much.  It makes a beautiful aroma.  Parayer is not in vain.  The Lamb, the King of the Universe is waiting to hear our prayers.  He wants to converse with us.  Does that not blow your mind?

Another thought today after a good fellowship time at Harvest.  A bunch of young folks were baptized and I got really excited to think of what potential they represent.  The scripture came to mind. “All creation waits in eager expectation, for the sons of God to be revealed.” (Romans 8:19)  Eager expectation…wow.  Not a ho hum, when will it get here, bored waiting.  But eager expectation. Why? Look in the next verse “For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. "

Who are the sons of God?  Who are the children of God?  What is this freedom?

Romans 8:14 says, “because those who are led by the  Spirit of God are sons of God.  For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry Abba, Father.  The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2Cor 3:17)

There is so much more… but it will have to be for another day.  Comments?

I'm just curious...do frog eggs fall from the sky?  My reasoning..every time it rains we get frog eggs in the pool.  Hah!

Been staying busy.  Kids resting up after camp.  Gardening a bunch.  Butter beans and corn coming in.  Back to walking in the mornings..boy do i like it.  Don't feel so fat or sluggish.  Coolest time of the day and the birds serenade me.

I am enjoying the bible study with Bill Experiencing God - we are listening listening for his voice.  Seems so hard sometimes in the busyness of llife.

Here's a quote: "We are a doing people.  We always want to be doing something.  Once in a while someone will say, "Don't just stand there, do something. I think God is crying out and shouting to us, "Don't just do something, stand there!Enter into a love relationship with Me.  Get to know Me. Adjust your life to Me.  Let Me love you and reveal myself to you as I work through you."  A time will come when the doing will be called for. but we cannot escape the relationship.  The relationship with God must come first."   (.... the vine and the branches John 15:5)

So many things I cannot do on my own. Actually everything... Raising my children.  Being a wife or even a good friend,  Trusting others.  Forgiveness. Why do we forget to rely on Him? It really isn't that complicated.   I am often busy about all the wrong things it seems.  Everytime I think I might actually be growing up or becoming the least bit mature, I find myself being Goofy..I guess it is progress to recognise goofiness.

A bunch of old friends have been in touch with me lately and vice versa.  What a blessing it has been to me.  SOmetimes it is really lonely out here.  Life is just, well, busy.  I can never go back to those college years, but how powerful they were.  So many of us praying together, evangelizing together, encouraging one another, growing, falling flat on our faces from time to time, being Goofy.  We had so much TIME it seemed, not so many distractions or responsibilities and we were on fire for Jesus.  I just recently in the past few years found that scripture in Revelation about the prayers of the saints being saved up up in heaven.  I've often wondered about all of that praying we did in college in the chapel at morning prayer and in the little Epicopal chapel on campus  (that smelled like skunks) some evenings just spontaneously and all of the worship times until wee hours of the morning.  Did it lay this fantastic foundation for us?  We have all been scattered all over the world and we are raising our children as warriors for Jesus for His kingdom.  (We have been a prolific bunch) I wonder that Darrell (our campus minister) ever knew what his faithfulness to a weekly meeting and encouraging us to stand for Jesus even when we fell down or looked  goofy from time to time would do in the lives of fifty college students. After all,  Only twelve  men were able to turn the world upside down.  My point?  A little faithfulness and obedience can go a long way.  For very young person, my prayer would be to get on fire young and step out while you have so much time.  Let Jesus use you fully.  Get that good foundation laid and go for it!!

HE IS RISEN! Ohh how I want my children to understand this and hide it in their hearts! It is the heart of the Gospel.  He is the King , the Lamb of God who takes away our sins..He doesn't remain in the grave, but rules and reigns over all, and one day..."Every knee shall bow and Every tongue confess that He is Lord."  To instill this in them is my aim.  To this end I labour.  Sometimes I forget what I am here for

It is 2 a.m. and I cannot sleep.  I fell into a dead exhausted sleep at 9:30.  I got a whole bunch done today.  Bill helped me build the raised bed for my one garden spot and boy was he a blessing.  Tractors can do the work of ten men.  I don't feel very comfortable with the tractor so I really needed his help.  Now, all we have to do is plant, mulch and maintain.

Easter just crept up on me this year! I am not prepared.  I usually do a Passover feast with the children to help them tie the old and new testaments together.  We make banners for over our doorways that say "JESUS" in red paint and we do the seder plate and it is usually very fun and I don't know what happened this year.  On thursday night I was like, oh Easter is THIS weekend?  I dropped the ball.  Anyhow, tonight I woke up at about 1am and realized I hadn't done anything for tomorrow.. er, well , actually,  it is now today.  So I got up and decorated the table and made banners and wrapped little happys and set out the empty tomb, and the lambs, and the resurrection story eggs and the Donut Man Resuurection Celebration video.  Set up the cd player with the worship songs cd and made worship banners out of scarves.....now I can't sleep... great...i want to wake up BEFORE them in the morning.

and yes we do have a pagan Easter egg hunt with the eggs we colored the other day..it kind of grosses me out to eat them once they have been colored because they turn funky colors inside. (Maybe that is one of my five wierd things?  My food has to look a certain way...) So the colored eggs become the sacrificed egg hunt eggs ..handled and hidden to death.  Benjamin could do it all day long.  I think the dog gets some of them and eats them because they never all come back.  I really don't want to find one  in a week or so. Yuck!

Hey! I heard a RUMAH..kind of like from "Kindergarten Cop" Where Arnold Schwarzenegger says coulda been a tumah.   Anyway, I heard that...Rachael ...won a hundred dollars for her photography project for 4-H.  I was afraid she might not say it.  THat is really great!! Way to go Ra!

Well, it is not much fun to be awake and talking to myself.  Better try to sleep.  See ya!
